wendy - I'M SURE U WLD LOVE RAFTING. serious. its sumthg u wld like. hahaa:D its ok, u'll have a chance when u come visit me!!!!!
------------------------------------------------
Sunday - Waterfalls.
oh before that, on the way to the waterfall, theres like these phototaking points... one of them was crown point. really pretty view.
I like the photo on the right alot! its so symmetrical u noe!!
Nah.. put it here and show u ... SEE!! NICE RIGHT!
okay.. now we go to the waterfalls
we visited three. I loved the first one the most.....
Wouldn't you agree that this photo is absolutely nice. say serious. I look like "JOY the CONQUEROR of the FALLS" lol..!! courtesy of KW's great phototaking skills!
the first fall was the nicest. coz i walked all the way to the mouth or ending of the waterfall! I mean, i was directly near it... i wld haf gone under it if i had brought extra clothes, but unfortunately, i didn't. coz i wasn't expecting to be that close to a waterfall!!!!
If u look closely at the photos... i'm having difficulty opening my eyes and my hair is flying everywhere. the waterfall generates a lot of wind man! and there was water splashing on my everywhere! so yea, after taking the photos, i was all wet........ which wasn't such a bad thing.. since it was a scorcher! yea. the weather now .... sucks... ITS HOT LIKE CRAZY LA. it was 99degrees.today. -.-
so anyway... latourell falls... (the smallest of the 3)
check out the link... its the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon! Total height of 189metres! and check this out..-> WE WALKED THE WHOLE WAY UP...... tiring seh.. on a incline somemore leh! WOW. it was really scary at some points, coz i felt like i was going to fall off the mountain... and no barriers or anythg.. totally nature-ry(as some wld call it) hahahahah.
This was a shot taken just at the bridge.. barely starting the hike up.. i'm the main attraction, but the people at the background make really nice background dun ya tink??? frenx climbing up the log to take photo... hahaha, i miss my frens. i'm sure we wld haf done tat too huh :P (I'm speaking to those who consider me their fren. LOL... *emo one corner*)
And FINALLY aft like a 40min hike, we're at the top!!! nice view huh... i was freaking out... guess i'm not too good with heights... in this pic, i'm actually holding on to the back of the railing really realy, majorly, really tight. LOL
Now can u tell why i was freaking out?? HAHA its like a dead drop down -.-
And i couldnt resist taking a shot with this mini waterfall. Its actually the beginning of the majorly huge waterfall itself... to tink such a scary montrous waterfall starts from sthg so peaceful huh. I love this mini waterfall... love the peace that comes just by looking at the photo... :D
Lastly, shots of us on the way back, courtesy of EG. She remained at the bottom of the hill(duh!pregnant leh!) we're on that bridge i was talking about. right at the beginning before the long hike began. she probably zoomed in quite a bit. can u see us waving like siao ppl?!?!?
Lastly dinner at some restaurant. If ure wondering abt the lack of photos.. (i noe its so not like me to not haf abundance of food pics on this blog), i was SUPER TIRED. drained out by the sun. but the main reason is coz my cam died on me, and i forgot to brg extra batteries -.- hahah.
but anyway, the pic below is from KW's cam. i'm holding an oyster shooter... fresh, raw oyster, out oits shell and with sum cocktail sauce. YUMS. it was so good. my first time having it. lol.
I was tired... hahaha. early in the morning go raft seh..
Setting up the raft. its an 8 man raft, so it was huge!
next.. some pictures of the scenery...
Stopping for lunch... "LUNCH". water soaked apples, and pretz.
And of course, wads a rafting trip, without... WATER FIGHTS! besides spraying each other... we also sprayed random ppl. WATER FIGHTS GALORE. the nice thing abt americans..
"Hey, you look like you could cool down"
*starts spraying water gun*
"Thanks!"
OR
"Hey, you look like you could cool down"
*starts spraying water gun*
*unknown people take out their own water guns*
WATER FIGHT BEGINS
LOL
i was fighting for my life man. broke two nails even -.-
KW being sprayed
By none other than UJ!
I'm fully equipped with a water gun as well.. SUPER SOAKERS!
All in all, it was nice time rafting... ! I love the rapids. tho' i prob scream reallyloud everytime we go over them!! :D
oh btw, when u do activities such as dis, its such a blessing to haf a ... WATER CAMERA.
i'm trying to look professional in that pic. WAHAHHA.
(unfortunately, the camera lens was abit wet. so my pic kena smudged. oh wells.)
well i'm back from another long day. pretty tired to upload pics tho'. Can i just say that the weather can absolutely drain all ur energy out?!?! SERIOUS. its been the hottest ever since i touched-down here. Hotter than singapore. today was 93farenheit, roughly 30degrees celcius. its madness la! so hot that when u step in the sun, u feel like u'd become ashes and drift with the wind -.-
dry bones. speaks of shattered dreams, dead things in our lives, things that we used to dream of but now feel that there is totally no hope of it ever coming to pass. hopelessness.
We choose wad we want to speak into our lives, whether it may be positive or negative. Many times we dun realize how much wad we speak into our lives actually affects our lives.
"Reality is born in the seed of a dream" when we stop dreaming, we drift into mediocrity and contentment.Thats where we stop pushing ourselves to be the best in our lives and just accept the norm.
Let us nvr come to that state. Start dreaming, start planning, start committing urself to a life where u wld push urself to a place where God would wan u to be.
Wherever we are in life right now, its not by luck, or chance, or just coz "liddat lo". Its coz of how we planned our lives before, the dreams we dreamt, the faith to believe, and whether we followed through or not. Yes, Gods grace keeps us safe enough that we don't fall into a gorge and lose ourselves, but saying that you leave everythg into Gods hands, and not plan at all is jus being plain lazy. So, what did we actually speak into our lives? And wad are we actually speakign into our lives now.
As for me, i don't want to let my life pass my by and realize that i'm just a mediocre piece of flesh living in this world. I admit i haven't been speaking positively, or with faith, into my life. I've been seeing all the negative, all the fear of the unknown, and to a certain point, not been looking forward to the future or wad my life has instore of me. I realize now, that if i cont' tinking this way, life is just gonna get the better of me.
Its not that i'm not excited at all for wad the future holds, but just that sometimes the uncertainty overwhelms you.
Therefore, once again, i commit my life into His Sovereign hand. And choose to cleanse my eyes with spiritual eyedrops(LOL) to see what life can really be for me. To speak with faith into and over my life, believing that He's gonna use me in every way that i imagined and dreamed of, and MORE. I guess every once in a while, we need to be knocked on the head and reminded of what is really important and of lasting value in our lives.
oh, btw! today on the road, at the corner, of the traffic stop. there was this guy standing there holding a sign that read "Hate the world you live in, and Love Jesus."
HUH?? i dun get it -.- and it doesnt help by just standing there showing the sign. I dun understand his intention. But i do noe this. Christianity is so much more, than hating. Hating the world, ppl in the world. I'm sure christianity is so much more than that. Yes we are called to forsake the world, and like wad he wrote, to love Jesus. But more than hating, can we learn to see the world the way He sees it. With love instead of hatred.
Son of man, can these bones become living people again? O Sovereign Lord, you alone know the answer to that. Speak a prophetic message to these bones....
"Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord"

OF ALL. I LOVE THE HOT CHOC THE BEST. i dunno la, the taste is just different and super yummy. apparently, they're famous for it, like they put all their hot choc in a huge pot and stirstirstir till they die, and ta-dah! famous hot choc. YUM.
also... pics of kong ba that i promised...
we agree that theres sthg missing, but we dunno wad. HOwever... the pork belly was super soft and yummy, and overall, it was still a gd taste of home...
LASTLY... strawberry smoothie.. fresh strawberries mixed with icecream and milk. YUM
Are you craving for singaporean food, but are so far away from that small dot, that u are at a loss of wad to do? FEAR NOT! for now, there is a way to haf good sg food, in ur own home! even if u are 200.000 miles away from that small red dot!
why? Well. anythg is possible with pre-packed spices!!
we bought a prima deli brand of pre-packed meesiam. VERY GOOD LEH. and they included sambal chilli and lime, and sauce for the soup etcetc. of course just add the eggs and stuff urself!!
also....
bak kut teh. ! see. sg made pre-packed spices! HAHA. just dump all the ingredients into a crock pot and boil till ready to eat. yum.
also....
no, this one has no pre-packed ingredients... but theres you tiao in states ok! but must go to the asian area.... like chinatown or sthg lidat. i must say it was ex... $1 for one! mad ar. -.- but oh well, for the sake of yummy food!! this was done with instructions from a cook book.
conclusion of the matter : ANYTHG IS POSSIBLE WITH PRE-PACKED SPICES & A COOKBOOK!
now, sthg that has nth to do with sg food...
just thought i'd put it up, since its so pretty! and i did it all by myself. i manually rolled the watermelon into small cute balls. NICE RITE. hahahahahaa.

(oh ya, oh a side note..... according to kuku winston, SOYA MILK GIVES MEN BOOBS. hahaha. so when ee glor n i drink this yummy drink, uncle josh steers away. I WONDER IF ITS TRUE THO. i'm sure janicepohshilling will be very intrigued by this fact. HAHAHAH. mayb u guys can experiment and let us noe if its true. hahahahaha. oh my tian. hilarious.)
EH! i forgot. we are in the midst of making kongba! ho ho ho. recipe from granny. pictures will be up tmr! i'm in the midst of boiling water to make boiled eggs. gonna try adding salt, see if it works !!
BUBBLE TEA. yay. first bubble tea in 3weeks. also, one of the first things i ordered in chinese. i tink the aunty oso happy to serve someone who can give her an order well and fluently in the language she is so familiar with. esp since the huge grp of girls before me were so vague and so not chinese. HAHA :P
and i saw this weird ad, HOT bubble tea?? sorry, that just does NOT sound right. I MEAN. come on.... how can u have hot BUBBLE tea. -.- hot milk tea ok la, but leave out the bubbles please. don't destroy the beauty of bubble tea.
CHeck this out. du-RAIN. i'm sure u nvr want to get caught in du-RAIN. u will surely come out of it smelling bad. I mean, hello, lets not even talk abt the fact that u made durian (the lovely fruit) into weird loking love letters, CAN U EVEN SPELL IT RIGHT??? oh wells, give u credit for trying mr. tong muan.
more food pictures for those who are interested..
THe steak was huge and thick and juicy. NO KIDDING> yum. homemade. We marinated for less than half and hour, with just salt and pepper. Guess grilling it over real charcoal and fire makes alot of difference in the taste!
next Off to cozco's,where everythg is sold mainly in bulk, but much cheaper than anyother place. Have a look at the yummy choc wanilla icecream. they make it on the spot for u!
Cinnamon twists! I ate half, and had the other half with milk the next day. YUMMS

(ps: the four pictures there are when uncle j & i wanted to watch a movie, and needed to switch off the lights. he gave her a headlight! LOL.. to the max -.- HAHA)
oh yah! of course every post must haf food rite.
sooo... mexican food.! nice, just when i was cravings mommys home made salsa! (hers is better tho)
weather here is getting warmer. Finally, i get to experience summer for what it really is. Hope the hot weather lasts tll oct at least! :)
we had a birthday celebration for my aunty's mom-in-law. lots of prep involved.
like the coleslaw... and then there was potato salad...
and i had a major hard time with the eggs man. the shell quite hard to get off the egg. so u can see the eggs in my pic are like holey. HAHAHHA. jialut. i remb someone (i tink it was my mom) telling me that if u put salt in with the eggs when they are boiling, the shell will be easier to peel off. Wonder if thats true, guess i just gotta go and try it out myself before i'll noe!
next.. made limeade. used 14 limes! squeezed them for abt half and hr! and got abt 20 ounces of pure concentrated juice! YUM. add sparkling fizz water, and ure done! weets. oh, can add sugr syrup too.... btw, my aunty has this cool juicer machine. u put the lime at the top when ure supposed to juice it, and it automatically moves!! so u dun hafta keep turning ur hand to squeeze out all the juice. neat invention !!!
we proceeded to bbq the ribs, steak, shrimp and zucchini!
then we shall come up close and personal with a very shiok food!
RIBS! and my aunty's own homemade bbq sauce... its a pretty simple process. marinate over night, stick it in the oven for 2and a half hrs, take it out, and grill over fire, or stick it back in the oven for just a bit. tastes great. i love the bbq sauce too. and for the ribs, theres a special ingredient in the marination..... ORANGE JUICE.! cool ar. Coz ure actually braising the ribs in the aluminium foil in the oven. and aft tt, can use the broth to make the bbq sauce! shiok to the max. hahahah
finally some pictures of the ready-to-eat-food!
homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, made by one of the aunties. the letterings can be eaten! from betty crockers. ready-made! cute for a cake. and if ure wondering wad those curvy, twisty things are, they are candles! haha. very interesting.
the potato salad.. again. it was yummy!!
coleslaw... honestly, i tink i'm not really a fan of coleslaw. haha
OH YAH. and my aunty made fried rice for lunch. HAHA :D
For the first time in my life, i experience soreness in my wrist.... MAN> sucks big time. coz u can't hold things properly etc.... probably coz of the manual labor we did yest! LOL.
blackberry bushes --> when my family first heard tt my aunty had decided to cut down all the blackberry bushes at her place, we all felt deep sadness. NO MORE BLACKBERRIES TO EAT. booo. So anyway, when i arrived at her place... all the black berry bushes were still on the sidewalk area....
tada... massive amts of blackberry bushes
instead of paying to get it hauled away. The decision was made to do it ourselves. This would explain the huge truck in our driveway...
See. i wasnt kidding when i said MASSIVE amts of black berry bushes.
We're hauling them into the truck. mind you, is the first time ever that i've used a pitchfork. HAHAHA.
EeEe had to use shears to cut! WHY? coz the branches are so attached to one another... AWWWWWW.
Seriously though, the branches ar not frenly at all!!! -.- they are long, and hard, and FULL OF THORNS. i can't even begin to count the number of times the thorns pricked me through my jeans. it cut my uncles lips. and one of the branch flung itself back at me while i was raking it, hitting my forehead -.- STOOPID BLACKBERRY BUSHES.hahhaha
these shears are mighty powder-ful!!!
"Don't beat around the bush... CUT THROUGH IT!!"(quote of joytanliyenmuliawarni) no wonder i get irritated with ppl who can't get straight to the point. From now on, ppl like that will remind me of STOOPID BLACKBERRY BUSHES!!! lol
We kept at it for 2hrs... from 715-915pm. Finally, we filled up about half of the truck.
Next we brought it to my uncles work place. Remb one of the things they do there is grow christmas trees?? so, theres a burn pile there, and we dumped it on the burn pile. Don't you think the night sky here is really beautiful...! :)
Check out before & after photos!
hmmm. ok, mayb can't really tell, but the burn pile grew 3x its original size!! LOL.
So this is the amt of bushes we haf left at the back of the hse. -.- STOOPID BLACKBERRY BUSHES.
well, i can say this much... the nx time i see blackberries, I'M GONNA DEVOUR ALL OF THEM! the idea is to make the children pay! WAHAHAHA. die you stoopid blackberry bushes. LOL.
lastly.. my poor sore wrist. boohoohoo.
oh, it was fun tho!! dunno if i would look forward to doing it another time hahahaha :D
Thanks to all the ppl that i talked to over msn, they made me haf huge cravings for CHINESE food -.-
but GUESS WHAT
just came back from lunch....
(CAN YOU TELL I LOVE CHINESE FOOD?!?!?)
yay CHINESEfood. absolutely loved it. wa... the soup, was so GOOD. really v v vnice. guess i'm a soup person. give me noodles and soup, and i'll be happy!! we got roasted duck too, which was pretty good, and those veg w stewed beef, which was superb! HAHAHAH. just tinking abt it is making me hungry again..... YAY. thank you States for not belittling the chinese food. HAHA :D
LOOK. CHILLI. WAHAHAA. (but apparently, they dun haf chilli SAUCE...) chopped chilli and chilli paste is gd enough for me!!
Its funny how at EVERY SINGLE chinese restaurant we go to, they always give fortune cookies after ur meal... funny rite. i mean, why are fortune cookies even associated with the chinese culture?? I dun see singapore giving out these yummy-li-cious things !!!
haha. the fortune is so funny rite. "You shouldn't overspend at the moment. FRUGALITY IS IMPORTANT!!" ya la ya la... i know... this girl is totally BUDGETBUDGETbudgetbudget
next came back home, and my aunty asked me if i cld prepare coleslaw (we're having a party tmr, her mom-in-law's bdae). soooo i did! just followed a recipe! its pretty simple. of course quite a bit of effort, coz hafta chop into small slices... esp the carrots. but wad can i say, its definitely a very accomplishing feeling to prepare sthg with ur own two hands! :D
try and make it when ure free... its healthy oso! as a sidedish, or put into ur sandwich or sthg. HAHA.
its not like those creamy coleslaw. more of a light, tangy, refreshing flavor. woots :D
Lastly, i shall eat my bowl of cherries and berries! FRESHLY PICKED. yum :D
Just to add to your general knowledge...
The nutrients and compounds found in cherries give the following health benefits..
Help fight cancer Aid in prevention of heart disease Relieve Pain of Arthritis, Gout, Headaches Ease the symptoms associated with Fibromyalgia Syndrome Provide a healthy and safe way to produce melatonin Improve physiological and mental functions
besides berry picking. another funny even happened....
my auntie saw this van (dunno why its sideways again -.-)
and she had cravings for french fries. HAHA
notice the sign on top of the traffic light? its says "ONE WAY"
well, we were under that stop light, on that road there, and there was a macs on the left. SO, coz this macdonalds truck was infront of our car, totally blocking the view. My uncle didn't see the "ONE WAY" sign, and we ended up turning left. You can imagine, all the cars were coming our direction......... so noe wad we did?
see this sidewalk?? (you can also see the traffic light we were at on the top lefthand corner of the picture) well... MY UNCLE DROVE ONTO THE SIDEWALK. hahahahahha. it was hilarious la.... here we are on a one way road, and we cannot go forward or else we'll crash into oncoming traffic right, so we ended up on the sidewalk. thank God the sidewalk was broad... and there were not pedestrians! LOL. as well as no police. phew. but it was funny, coz as we were driving on the soidewalk, all the other car-drivers, were giving us weird stares.. and we were laffing away in the car.........
list of things the haf ready for picking (paiseh its sideways.haha)
white buckets for us to pick the fruit!
the berry picking field!!
first, we picked... BLUEBERRIES!
this is the one blueberry that was in my hands in the collage. notice its a SINGLE berry on the bush. so, my aunt said , "why dun u pick it and try it. if its sour, then, it was the only one left anyway, if its sweet.... too bad, coz its the last one too." HAHAHA
so was it sweet or sour??? SWEET!! and humongous. hahahaha. too bad :P
next : Chehalam (young) berries
these are absolutely delicious berries! serious. the taste... very tasty. hahahah ya the note to self is there. coz when i saw the berries, and decided to try one, i picked the red one. SUPER SOUR LA. how was i supposed to noe its actually black berries rite?!?!? HAHAHA. but well, NOW I NOE.
next : Cherry Trees!
i was freaking out on that tree man. uncle went , "oh, guess we shld haf remb to brg a ladder... but u noe wad, i could lift joy up into that tree!" so i literally put my foot in some place on that tree, and with some help from my uncle climbed up the tree!!!!! i noe it doesnt look high, but do u notice how scrawny the tree looks??!? i was terrified it'll bend over and break or sthg. of course it didn't and thats why i'm here, typing all this down. HAHAHA. i felt woozy aft the tree incident tho.
this is the cherry tree field
these are red cherries! has a little bit of a sour taste as compared to the black cherries
pulling a branch down and picking all the cherries on it~!
so we decided to bake cookies. it was a random thing. my aunt went to slp, and woke up at abt 10plus. and she suddenly said, "cookies sound good"... yum...
gradually missing sg more :/

updates!
I've been away from singapore for a week now.
Schedule has been pretty hectic.. but as promised, now that i'm freer, I will upload all the pics etcetc. I haf to complain tho'... coz of my com's super power virus scanner... Places like Yahoo and PHOTOBUCKET. give me a very hard time -.- ppl, just shows u how much virus or wadeva these two sites haf. MAKE ME COM SUPER LAG LA. hahahha.
so anyway...
Day 1...
touched down @ Portland, Oregon.
First meal of the day... APPLE JACKS FOR BREAKFAST. haha. nvr heard of it before man. its like fruitloops, but with cinnamon flavour. & i absolutely love the colors..! RED & GREEN. (well sorta)
when i stepped into the bathroom, i saw that super cute soap with my name on it. Seems that my uncle's colleague does that stuff, and specially made one for me.. aw....
next is the really nice nice room! laptop arrived too!
after putting my bags down in the room, we headed down to mt my uncle for lunch @ his workplace. its really cool, coz he works on a farm. He does like internet servicing, whereby ppl from all over call and ask all the internet ques stuffs. and on that farm, they frow Christmas trees, as well as lavendar fields!!
ohoh. we also passed by these animals called el-pacos. they're really cute man. look exactly like lamas, except they're really expensive, coz they're grown for their fur. and everytime they get sheared, the ppl give them their own unique haircuts! HAHA. the one below has this like turf of fur on his head. makes him look super funny la. LOL
so then we had dinner at this italian restaurant. dun u tink their logo looks alot like pastamania??? HAHAHA. but the pasta is soooo good! They used angel hair as the noodle in their spaghetti thing. SHIOK TO THE MAX LA. den we had like a salami salad kinda thing, and some baked sthg. HAHAHA. ok. sorry la, its been a week, i forgot all the names of the stuffs alr. BUT u can see from the pics that its really really good!
aft dinner, we went to this place called "Voodoo donuts" - a famous donut shop! I got a shirt from there too.. but forgot to take pic of it! HAHA.
Apparently, Uncle J really loves, i mean SERIOUSLY LOVES donuts and pastries and stuffs. by that time i totally felt over fed, but they still got me sthg. you see the donut shaped as like a man? well, its their signature donut - a voodoo doll. HAHAHA. theres even a pretzel stick coming out from its chest. anw, the layout of the place is cute, all pink etcetc.. but honestly, they're a little, or very much too sweet for me! HAHA. but still nice, in small portions.
Day2 - Day4
We travelled to Vancouver. Mainly to find a house. Honestly, i never thought it would be possible, but I found and confirmed the place i was staying by Saturday (4thjuly). God is really nice and good to me, coz He answered my prayer concernng the house. And every detail that i wanted of the hse i got. Except, the shared bathroom. But honestly, it doesnt matter, coz its only one other girl, and shes v particular abt cleanliness.
Sure there were quite a few hiccups along the way, concerning other things. But at the end of the day, I really see God's goodness and faithfulness to me :)
THANKS EVERYONE WHO PRAYED...elizabeth koh, janice poh, emme-worm, christel, joanne, mr&mrs nathan, p.dan, xueying, bryan, brandon, joseph... and anyone else i missed out who prayed for me, specifically abt the hse! well, i'll be moving in on August 15th. more pictures then....
for now..
not too bad rite?? seriously, its the best of all the other houses i saw. And i only need to share the hse with one other person. shiok ar. its really a v nice place. outside, it seems rather questionable (coz it looks very empty) but once the door is opened and u go in, WOW. u gt surprised man. i'm loving it more n more. went back to take a 2nd look before i decided. and, the 2nd look was all it took. HAHAHA. coz all the other hses before that, definitely cannot compare.
one hse with waterlogged toilet, and unclean kitchen.. another with rickety steps, carpet that u felt grossed out to be stepping on, another with a v unfrenly landlady, small living quarters, shared among 5 other students.. and the list just goes on. HAHAHA.
so once again. thank You God :)
Well, of course we stopped by different food places...
for lunch when we first reached vancouver, we went to this jap restaurant. I had a beef teriyaki bowl. but it sure din look like it. tasted ok tho. And in the evening we went to this place called "Hon's" (supposedly known to have 90 different kinds of soup). We ordered other things as well, such as egg tofu dishes and chicken dishes, as well as egg soup. was pretty ok. however, eating chinese food made me mis sg alot :(
we also checked out "Floata Restaurant"... A dim sum restaurant. Pretty good! had siew mai, yam basket, taukwa, char siew pau, dumpling... but the xiao long pao. TOTALLY NOT GOOD. hahaha. eh BB --> I miss out times of eating xiao long pao at the dongdong place remb?? @ tamp mall. forget wad its called liao. HAHAHA.
They haf lots of pretty cupcakes there too.. and candied apples etc.
lastly, on the way back home, we stopped at this famous place for bbq-ed stuff. apparently they won in a lot of smokey (bbq) competitions.! well, it was pretty good, super filling tho!!!
so concludes the end of my weekend!!

so im in portland oregon right now. its 930pm , and the sky is still bright..!
leaving sg was super emo-fied. but ultimately, the whole experience of travelling alone, was pretty cool. on my first flight, there was no one sitting beside me, so it was pretty spacious. then i transited at Narita, Tokyo. unfortunately, i was only there for less than an hour, but now i can proudly say "I have been to Japan!". The person i was sitting next to in the next flight turned out to be from British Columbia, Vancouver. Now how coincidental is that, that I will be going to the exact same location nx mth?? haha. its cool how God arranges mtgs etc.
i realized ppl really have misconceptions of singaporeans. he was amazed at my wonderful english, and even asked if i had learnt english by watching tv. like how wonderful is that right. HAHAH. i was like "singapore is mainly an english speaking population" and he said "oh, i tot they speak singaporean-nese." HAHAHHA.
so i finally touched down in portland, oregon. and i'm absolutely loving this place. the weather shiok to the max. no humidity etc. and honestly the food is great too. service is seriously superb. my auntie has been overfeeding me! so tmr we muz ration liao. I got to see where my uncle works, drove past farms, saw el-pacos. did quite alot of stuff today, dun haf the energy to upload the photos at this time. i'm suffering from jetlag, but haf managed to stay awake the whole day, so hopefully i'll slp well tonite, and be able to be wide awake tmr!
i've got a long week ahead.
leaving for vancouver tmr, gonna spend the weekend there. During that period of time, i'm gonna find my housing, open up bank accnt, apply for a social insurance number! yes, i'm abit stress, coz like alot of things to do. but u noe wad, i dun wanna be stress! just enjoy la huh.
